Meissen porcelain topographical coffee pot, c. 1860. Finely hand painted with an extensive titled view of Dresden, from the South bank of the Elbe, depicting figures walking in the foreground, whilst workmen unload a boat on the river.
Over the river can be seen the Augustus Bridge, the Frauenkirche, and the Katholische Hofkirche, within a quatrefoil gilt scroll cartouche, on a cobalt blue ground. The reverse with a panel of flowers and insects.
Having a scroll spout and a branch leaf handle, heightened in gilt.
The cover with a large bud finial.

Titled ‘Dresden ’, in black script.

Provenance – Chatsworth House, Derbyshire. Lot 775, Sothebys, 5th October, 2010.

Height – 21.5 cm, 8 1/2”.

Width (Handle to spout)- 17.5 cm, 6 7/8”.

Condition – Finial professionally, invisibly re attached. Otherwise in excellent condition.
