Nantgarw Porcelain Dish, Flowers and Insects, circa 1815
A fine Nantgarw porcelain dish, circa 1815. Delicately hand painted to the centre, with a spray of flowers, and three insects. Within an elaborately gilded border of continuous stylized shell, scroll and floral motif.
The reverse unusually painted with moths, covering minor firing blemishes.
Impressed ‘NANT-GARW, CW’ to the reverse.
Measure: Diameter 23.2 cm, 9 1/8”.
Condition: Some minor wear to the gilding – please see images. No damage. No restoration.
