Neopolitan bronze figure of the ‘Dancing Faun, c. 1850. The details finely rendered, and bearing a good, original patination.
Set upon a square pedestal base.

The original ‘Danzante Fauno’ was cast in the 1st Century BC, and found at Casa del Fauno (House of the Faun), Pompeii, during archaeological digs, which took place between 1830 and 1832. It is now housed in the National Archaeological Museum, Naples.
