Pair of Japanese Imari porcelain vases, Arita, c. 1700, Genroku Period. The trumpet shaped vases, decorated in typical Imari enamels, with an unusual scene depicting a section of a pavilion, beyond a walk way. More typical decoration of flowering plants to the reverse of both vases.
The top sections, with further panels of flowering plants.
Height – 25 cm, 9 7/8”.
Diameter – 13.2 cm, 5 1/8”.
Condition – typical minor age related wear to the gilding. Otherwise excellent condition. No damage. No restoration.
