Pair Jacob Petit scent bottles, Paris, c. 1840.

Pair of fine Jacob Petit of Paris porcelain scent bottles, c. 1840. Both square shaped bottles, well painted with oval panels of birds, perched in trees, alternating with panels of Spring flowers, within gilt leaf and scroll frames, upon a blue ground.
Pierced and gilded architectural gallery to the tops of the bottles, supported by acanthus leaf moulded columns, terminating in swans, above paw feet.
Both bottles with large moulded and gilded stoppers.

Incised numbers to the bases.

Height – 20 cm, 7 7/8”.

Width – 8.7 cm, 3 3/8”.

Depth – 8.7 cm, 3 3/8”.

Condition – Typical minor wear to the gilding.
