Pair of Japanese porcelain ‘Imari’ vases, Arita, c. 1700, Genryoku Period. The hexagonal shaped vases, hand painted in the Imari style, with storks flying amongst flowering prunus trees and bamboo plants, beneath clouds. The rim, painted with panels of stylised, flowering plants.
Decorated in typical Imari colours, and black enamel.
Height – 26 cm, 10 1/4”.
Width – 14 cm, 5 1/2”.
Condition – Repair to small crack to underside of one vase. Typical minor wear to the enamels. Otherwise excellent condition.
