Pair Meissen porcelain cockerel and hen, c. 1920.

A fine and large pair of Meissen porcelain figures of a cockerel and a hen, c. 1920. Originally modelled by J.J. Kaendler, the plumage finely moulded, and heightened in vibrant enamels. Both figures set upon oval mound bases, encrusted with flowering plants, and painted grass; the hen having laid an egg.
Crossed swords mark in underglaze blue. Incised model numbers ‘394’ and ‘395’ to the underside of the figures.
