Pair of Darte Freres of Paris Porcelain Pot Pourri, circa 1820
Pair of Darte Freres of Paris, porcelain pot pourri and covers, circa 1820. Both pot pourri having panels, exuberantly painted with vases of flowers, set upon marble plinths. All upon a gilt ground, tooled with further baskets of flowers, within gothic arches. The vases having lion head handles, are also set upon lion paw feet and square bases. Surmounted by pierced covers.
Stencilled ‘Darte, Palais Royale, No. 21’, to both bases.
Measures: Height – 14 cm, 5 1/2”.
Width – 11.5 cm, 4 1/2”.
Condition – Typical minor wear to the gilding. Otherwise perfect condition. No restoration.
