Pair of Fukugawa porcelain vases, Dragon and Phoenix, Japan, c. 1890, Meiji Period. One pear shaped vase, well painted in underglaze blue, with a large dragon, the opposing vase, with a phoenix. Both on an iron red enamelled ground, heightened in gilt.

Factory marks in underglaze blue to the base of both vases.

Height – 26 cm, 10 1/4”.

Diameter – 15.2 cm, 6”.

Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
