Pair of Meissen pot pourri & covers, c. 1870.

A fine pair of Meissen porcelain pot pourri and cover, c. 1870. Modelled in Marcolini Period style, each pot pourri having pierced shoulders, supported upon three angular feet, with suspended garlands, and set on canted bases, moulded with rosettes. Both having female mask handles.
The bodies hand painted with panels after Wouvermans, of equestrian hunting scenes in extensive rural landscapes, within Laub und Bandelwerk bordered panels.
Having domed covers, surmounted by laurel wreath finials.
Underglaze blue crossed swords marks, and incised F25 to the underside of both pot pourri.
Height – 23.5 cm, 9 1/4”.
Width – 21 cm, 8 1/4”.
Depth – 13.5 cm, 5 1/4”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
