Pratt ware figure of a girl wearing a top hat, c. 1790.
A very rare Pratt ware figure of a gardener, Staffordshire, c. 1790. Modelled as a bare footed young girl, wearing a long dress, decorated with spots. Unusually, she also wears a top hat, and heavy gardening gloves. In her left hand she holds a bunch of roses, whilst in her right hand, a single bloom.
She stands on a grassy mound base. Decorated in in typical Pratt colours, beneath a pearlware glaze.
Height: 21 cm, 8 1/4”.
Width: 7.5 cm, 3”.
Depth: 7.8 cm, 3 1/8”.
Condition: Two small chips to the rear of the base. No restoration.
