Yorkshire pottery Prattware racehorse, c. 1820. The buff glazed horse, with tortoiseshell brown spotting, wearing a bridle, saddle, and saddlecloth, in blue enamel. He has dotted eyebrows, and a grey glazed mane, and cropped tail.
His mouth is pierced to accommodate realistic reins.
Set upon an oval base, with continuous acanthus leaf moulding.
Height – 20 cm, 7 7/8”.
Length – 20 cm, 7 7/8”.
Depth – 9 cm, 3 1/2”.
Condition – Restoration to the legs, and left ear.
