Rare Staffordshire pottery jug, c. 1860. The large jug, modelled as a seated tabby cat, attired as a pupil, in a red coat, and claret tricorn hat, forming the spout of the jug. He holds a scroll in both paws.
Set upon a grassy mound base, and having a rope twist handle to the reverse.

Width: 11.5 cm, 4 1/2”.
Depth: 10.5 cm, 4 1/8”.
Condition: Slight wear to the overglaze enamel, commensurate with the age of the jug - please see images for detail. No damage. No restoration.
