A pair of Royal Worcester porcelain ‘Chelsea style ewers’, dated 1888. Probably gilded by by Royal Worcesters master gilder, Samuel Ranford with finely executed sprays of chrysanthemum in deep relief.
The ewers of classical form, set upon square pedestal feet, and having high handles, terminating at the body with Satyr heads.
All beneath a blush ivory ground, heightened with gilt.
Height – 28 cm, 11”.
Width – 11 cm, 4 3/8”.
Depth – 9.5 cm, 3 3/4”.
Puce printed factory marks, model number 1144, and date code for 1888.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
