Satsuma earthenware box and cover, signed Kikkoen, Meiji Period. The small box taking the form of a drum, with the cover painted with Geisha girls seated in a pavilion.
The drum painted with birds and butterflies flying amongst dense foliage.
Signed Kikkoen, in a gilt seal to the base.
Diameter – 3.7 cm, 1 3/4”.
Height – 3 cm, 1 1/4”.
Condition – Excellent condition. No damage. No restoration.
