Satsuma pottery figure group, Japan, c. 1890, Meiji Period. The large group, modelled as Hotei standing, with his corpulent belly sticking out of his robes. He drags his large sack, within which, are seated, two smiling boys, carrying a large fan.
Painted in vivid enamels, and gilding, with stylised floral motif to the robes, and sack.
Height: 28.5 cm, 11 1/4”.
Width: 19 cm, 7 1/2”.
Depth: 19 cm, 7 1/2.
Condition: Typical minor wear to the enamels. No damage. No restoration.
