Scottish pottery money box, c. 1880. Modelled as a standing cockerel, set upon a circular mound base, moulded with beading. The cockerel covered in blue, puce, and green glazes, over a white ground.
The back of the head, cut with a long aperture for the coins.
Impressed ‘ROSA SMITH’ to the base.
Height – 20.5 cm, 8 1/8”.
Width – 16.5 cm, 6 1/2”.
Diameter of base – 10.7 cm, 4 1/4”.
Condition – Excellent. No restoration.
