Spode Porcelain Tulip Cup and Saucer, circa 1820
A fine Spode porcelain cup and saucer, circa 1820. The cup modelled as a tulip, and naturistically painted to the exterior with petals, on a gilt ground; the handle formed as a butterfly. The saucer similarly decorated, with the petals radiating from a central panel, painted with a butterfly.
Height of cup – 7.5 cm, 2 7/8”.
Diameter of saucer – 13 cm, 5 1/8”.
Condition: Typical minor wear to the gilding. Otherwise perfect. No restoration.
