A rare Staffordshire pottery jug, c. 1810. Printed and over painted to one side, with a Bull baiting scene, in a rural setting. The reverse, with a farmers wife trying to scare a hawk away from her hens and chickens.
A Chinoiserie scene of Mandarin ladies in a garden adorn the jug, beneath the spout. The neck painted in iron red, with a continuous band of stylised leaf scroll.Having a simple strap handle.

Height – 17 cm, 6 3/4”.
Width (Handle to spout) – 19 cm, 7 1/2”.
Condition – Slight wear to the glaze. No damage. No restoration.
