Staffordshire pottery cow spill vase, ‘MILK SOLD HERE’, c. 1860. The large size cow, painted with liver red spots, and wearing a long chain, standing before a tree, under which grows a thistle.
Inscribed MILK SOLD HERE, in moulded capitals.
Height – 36.5 cm, 14 1/2”.
Length – 34 cm, 19 3/8”.
Depth – 9 cm, 3 1/2”.
Condition – Wear to the gilding, and some staining. No damage. No restoration.
