Large Staffordshire pottery elephant, ‘Jumbo’, c. 1860. The famous circus elephant, well modelled in the round, and naturistically coloured.
Set upon a shaped rectangular base, and having gilt lines to the base.
Length – 29.8 cm, 11 3/4”.
Height – 25.5 cm, 10”.
Depth – 12 cm, 4 3/4”.
Condition – Some typical minor wear to the gilt and enamel. No restoration.
