Staffordshire pottery figure of a ‘Dismal Hound, c. 1840. Finely modelled as a seated hound, wearing a gilt collar and chain. Painted with liver coloured spots.
Set upon an oval mound base, coloured in underglaze cobalt blue, and having a single gilt line around the base.
Height – 10.6 cm, 4 1/8”.
Width – 11.5 cm, 4 1/2”.
Depth — 7.6 cm, 3”.
Condition – Some minor wear to the overglaze enamel. No damage.
