Staffordshire pottery hen tureen and cover, Thomas Parr factory, c. 1860. Finely modelled as a hen, with her chickens, one sat on her back, the others tucked beneath her wings. The feathers well delineated, and heightened in gilt. The hens beak, and wattles, picked out in enamels.
