Staffordshire pottery ‘Tithe Pig’ bocage group, c. 1830. Modelled as the three characters stood before a tree. The farmer holding a pig, his wife holding their baby, and the vicar, looking towards them, with his hands in prayer. Before them, lay four pigs, a basket of eggs, and bushels of wheat. All set upon a grassy mound base, before the flowering bocage.
Painted in enamels, beneath a pearlware glaze.
Height – 19 cm, 7 1/2”.
Width – 12.5 cm, 5”.
Depth – 7.5 cm, 3”.
Condition – Small repairs to chips to figures, and bocage. Slight wear to the overglaze enamels.
