Sunderland lustre ‘Frog’ mug, c. 1860.

Sunderland pottery ‘Frog’ mug, Southwick, or Scott’s Pottery, c. 1860. Printed to one side, in black, and hand coloured, with ‘An East View of the New Bridge, Sunderland’. The reverse, with a verse, used by this particular pottery factory.
Further decorated with pink lustre squiggled lines, and bands to the rims.
The interior, with a large, open mouthed black frog.
