A rare Talavera de la Reina ‘grand feu’ tulipiere, c. 1660. The body, precisely painted with huntsman riding horses, and their attendants, vigoursly pursuing lions and stags, with hounds, in woodland.Typically painted in ochre, blue, and yellow tones.
Set upon a circular pedestal foot, and having the shoulder applied with eight spouts, beneath the neck.
Height – 27 cm, 10 5/8”.
Diameter – 22 cm, 8 5/8”.
Condition – Breaks to the spouts, typical minor wear to the glaze – please see images for detail. No restoration.
