Thomas Francois Cartier (1879-1943). Bronze study of a snarling, muscular, panther, striding across a rocky outcrop. The patination of good, rich colour.
Incised signature ‘T. Cartier’.
Thomas Francois Cartier (1879 – 1943) was born in Marseilles, France. He studied under Georges Gardet, and eventually specialised in creating animal sculpture. Cartier exhibited regularly at the Salon and was awarded a gold medal in 1927.
