Voltaire and Rousseau, a pair of French bronze busts, c. 1800. Depicting the great French writers and philosophers, Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778) and François Marie (Voltaire) Arouet (1694-1778).
Set upon gilt bronze socles, which in turn are supported by marble columns, with gilt bronze mounts.
Height – 21.7 cm, 8 1/2”.
Diameter – 8.3 cm, 3 1/4”.
