Wedgwood black basalt cherub flask, c.1850.

A rare Wedgwood black basalt flask, c. 1850. The flask, modelled with a seated cherub, or putti, between twin spiral formed spouts, issuing above twin rams heads. Decorated to the front, with a classical relief of Venus and Cupid, above a swag of flowers.
The reverse with a further swag of flowers.

Impressed ‘WEDGWOOD’ to the base.

Height – 17 cm, 6 3/4”.

Condition – Perfect.
