Rare and large Worcester porcelain ‘Monkey in a tree’ pattern bowl, c. 1770. The ‘Herring bone’ moulded bowl, printed and enamelled with the ‘Chinese Family’ pattern, and with the amusing and unusual prints of two boys pointing at a monkey in a tree, and a mother with a baby.
The more conventional images depicting scenes of Chinese figures at a table, before vases, and holding a fan.
A group of man and a lady smoke pipes, accompanied by two boys, one holding a bird, are printed and painted to the inside of the bowl.

Diameter – 20.2 cm, 8”.

Height – 8.5 cm, 3 3/8”.

Condition – Some typical wear to the enamels. No damage. No restoration.
